California Casita
This new house in Palo Alto incorporates traditional architectural elements from Mexico: including carved white pine doors, traditional ironwork, and handcrafted stone windows with stained glass.
The house was designed to be transformed over time by the lifestyle of the young family. One of the children's bedrooms functions as a lofted playroom that can later be adapted into a separate bedroom. The basement is a multi-use space, including a neighborhood theater for showing home movies.
